Five Point Someone

Have read this novel 'Five point Someone' that has been pending for a long long time now. Not because I didn't find time, but because in spite of my numerous efforts, I couldn't find the book in any of the libraries here. I hate it when I don't find popular books in libraries, it's like not finding Mickey mouse in Disney, or probably, I was looking for an Appu in Dinsney :D

Anyways, I finally got to read this book and it was worth all the toil. IIT and IIM have always been those dreams that keep you awake! The mere fact that the book is from an IIT IIM graduate gave me outrageous happiness. Being a person who failed to crack 'CAT', I was always fascinated in meeting people who made is as easy as cracking a nut. (You can imagine how happy I might be marrying one :))

Even though Vijay 'enlightened' me with his life at IIM, reading about it had an impact of its own. It was irresistible to even take a break! The story, the IIT life, the courses, the terminology, the GPA's everything kept me glued to the book. And the ultimate stunner is, it being true story of the author himself.

I enjoyed reading this book and it is a refreshing change from my usual wrestle with clock.

Hats off to Anil Passi

I have always been greatest fan of Anil Passi for all his contributions to Oracle Apps world. Wonder how he takes out time to reach so many people and answer their queries and concerns. And the greatest part is, the response time has never been more than 30 min.

Learning new technologies is becoming a child's play with each passing day. I believe google is a big step towards this. Wonder if a day comes when we all will be slaves to it. Well, can't imagine passing a day without google. Have seen a show on TV where people were even caught of murders because of googling. Intriguing huh? Well, days before murder the murderer was googling for rifles. This kept me spell bound thinking what different ways technology can be used.

Before I go off track, what made me get back to blogging world after a long long gap is Anil Passi's apps to fusion forums. This guy is a gem, he understands the readers perspective and takes care of all the questions they might get even before they raise. Now, with this forums in place, I am confident I can take up any kind of project. Why not, Anil Passi is behind me :) I posted a question in his forms personalization post and he responds back in less than 5 min with his new forums link :) He can take apps world by tail.

I wish I could meet him once!
